🔍 Summary:

Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 will officially end on October 14, but users who are not ready to upgrade to Windows 11 can still secure their systems for another year through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Initially, this program was set to cost $30, but Microsoft has now introduced two additional free options for obtaining these critical security updates.

Users can access the ESU program through a simple enrollment wizard that appears in notifications and in the Settings menu. There are three ways to enroll: by redeeming 1,000 points from the Microsoft Rewards program, by syncing Windows Backup with Microsoft OneDrive (which may require purchasing additional storage beyond the free 5GB), or by paying the original $30 fee.

While Windows 11 has stricter hardware requirements that may prevent some older PCs from upgrading, Microsoft continues to offer support for Windows 10 users, including three more years of security updates for Microsoft 365 apps. However, these updates will be limited to security improvements, with no new features or comprehensive tech support included.
