New MacBook Air and Mac Studio Will Have Day One Software Update - MacRumors
Customers eagerly awaiting their new MacBook Air or Mac Studio will need to update their devices to the latest macOS Sequoia version upon receipt. The M4 MacBook Air and the M4 Max and M3 Ultra Mac Studio models are pre-installed with older macOS versions—15.2 for MacBook Air and 15.3 for Mac Studio. Although macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 was released on February 10, these models were prepared for launch prior to this update. Apple plans to release a tailored update (24D2072) for these new devices just before their scheduled delivery on Wednesday, March 12.

In other Apple news, the company has introduced new features for the iPhone 16 and updates to its AI capabilities, previewed at WWDC in June 2024. Additionally, Apple has updated its M3 and M4 chip models across various devices and introduced an A16 chip with expanded storage for its entry-level iPad. Apple also continues to enhance its professional desktop offerings with the updated Mac Studio, equipped with advanced chips and numerous ports.
