Samsung brings two Pixel Fold features to Galaxy Z Fold 6 with One UI 7 update - 9to5Google
Samsung has introduced the One UI 7 beta for its Galaxy Z Fold 6, marking the update’s first appearance on foldable devices. This update brings notable enhancements, including the “swipe to continue” feature, which allows users to seamlessly continue using an app on the outer display after folding the device. This functionality, already available on other brands like Oppo and Honor, as well as on Google’s Pixel Fold series, enhances multitasking and user convenience.

Additionally, the update introduces an auto-hiding taskbar, a feature that aligns with changes Google implemented in Android 13. Unlike the previous static taskbar that occupied part of the screen permanently, the new taskbar can be revealed with a half-swipe, similar to the iPad’s taskbar system. This provides users with more screen real estate when the taskbar is not needed.

These updates, however, are currently available only in the beta version for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, with the full One UI 7 update scheduled for release in April 2025. This move by Samsung not only enhances functionality but also brings its foldable devices closer in line with competitors’ offerings in terms of software capabilities.
