Cancelled Batman Arkham Game Concept Art Reveals Old Bruce Wayne, Villains, and More - ComicBook.com

🔍 Summary:

Recently, concept art from a cancelled Batman game featuring Damian Wayne has been revealed, shedding light on what could have been an intriguing addition to the Batman Arkham series. The artwork, shared by character artist Rodrigue Pralier, includes designs for an older Bruce Wayne, equipped with a cane and leg brace, suggesting his battle-worn condition, alongside images of Damian Wayne, Killer Croc, and Huntress. This project, known as “Project Sabbath,” was in development by WB Games Montréal around 2015 but was never completed.

The game was expected to draw inspiration from the “Batman Beyond” animated series, where an aging Bruce Wayne retires, and a new, younger character takes up the Batman mantle. In the cancelled game, Bruce’s son Damian was set to replace Terry McGinnis from the animated series. Features planned for the game included the Nemesis system from “Shadow of Mordor” and a batcycle, elements that were later considered for another WB Montreal project, “Gotham Knights.”

Despite the cancellation of this and other DC superhero games, there is ongoing interest from Warner Bros. in developing more games based on DC characters. Meanwhile, Rocksteady Studios, known for their successful Arkham games, is rumored to be working on a new Batman game, although details and release dates remain speculative.
